San Antonio - Electrician

AAR Corp. (NYSE: AIR) is a global aerospace and defense aftermarket solutions company. This role is based at the San Antonio Port Authority.

Certified Electricians (Journeyman) will work on electrical breaker boxes and cables, requiring some mechanical skills. The role covers maintenance and repair of a broad range of ground support equipment (GSE) such as electrical splitter boxes, boom lifts, scissor lifts, air compressors, and 400 Hz generators. All technicians report directly to the Shop Manager.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and HVAC issues on GSE systems and subsystems.
• Re‑wire electrical splitter‑breaker boxes to code and repair various electrical problems.
• Document all maintenance actions using a computer‑based Maintenance Information System (MIS).
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce downtime.
• Strictly adhere to tool control, FOD prevention, safety, parts accountability, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
• Carry out routine housekeeping, including cleaning work areas, toolboxes, and company vehicles.
• Coordinate professionally with internal departments and external customers.
• Perform other assignments as designated.

• Minimum of 1–4 years of service experience with electrical systems.
• Preferred 1–2 years performing repair and maintenance on various ground support equipment.
• Familiarity with repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Physical ability to perform prolonged exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight or awkward positions.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• English reading and speaking proficiency; written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Universal HVAC certification preferred.

Full‑time (1st Shift 6 am–2:30 pm). Possible shift rotation in the future.
