Job Summary
Halo General Contractors is a San Antonio-based specialty contractor working on commercial and government construction projects — including military facilities, healthcare, and schools. We do the kind of work you can point to with pride. We're growing and looking for skilled ceiling installers who want steady work and a company that values the craft.
Duties- Read and interpret reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) and specifications
- Lay out ceiling grid using laser levels and chalk lines
- Install hanger wire, main tees, cross tees, and perimeter angles
- Cut and set standard and specialty acoustical ceiling tiles
- Integrate ceiling systems with light fixtures, HVAC diffusers, and sprinkler heads
- Install specialty systems including tegular tile, and linear metal ceilings
- Operate aerial lifts and scissor lifts safely
- Coordinate above-ceiling clearances with MEP trades
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all OSHA and site safety requirements
- Proven experience installing acoustical ceilings with a strong understanding of construction principles.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of related trades such as drywall installation, and metal stud framing.
- Familiarity with construction inspection procedures and quality control standards.
Skills:
- Experience with specialty systems: clouds, baffles, wood panels, concealed spline, curved soffits
- Prior military base, healthcare, or cleanroom ceiling experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Competitive pay: $23 – $30/hr based on skill and experience
- Consistent full-time hours on active projects
- Clear growth path to Lead Installer and Foreman
- Work on federal, military, and institutional projects across the San Antonio area
- Respectful, professional work environment
- Commercial construction: 3 years (Required)
- English (Preferred)
- Spanish (Preferred)
