Overview

We are thrilled to announce that B. Robinson LLC is now part of our organization, Grid Source Inc. LLC. We are actively seeking a Telecommunications Underground Foreman to work in the San Antonio, TX location.

Pay Rate: $24 - $29 per hour depending on experience.

Grid Source is seeking a Telecommunications Underground Foreman who will be responsible for safe operation and oversight of micro trenchers, excavators, hydro-vacs, and other construction endeavors by Grid Source. The responsibilities include but are not limited to understanding elevation changes and making informed decisions to avoid hitting underground utilities.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct field crews executing micro trenching and underground telecommunications projects.
  • Ensure the team operates safely, meets production and quality expectations, adheres to design and safety standards, and contributes to the overall success of each project.
  • Serve as on-site leader, mentor, and primary point of contact for field execution challenges.
  • Coordinate and support the execution of telecommunications construction projects.
  • Read, interpret, and enforce job prints, plans, and construction drawings.
  • Assist with pre-task planning, job setup, and completion of job setup tasks including traffic control and locating utilities.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct daily pre-task briefings and toolbox talks to promote a safety-first culture.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate safety hazards promptly.
  • Maintain high quality work standards and ensure all activities align with customer design specifications.
  • Perform quality checks of completed work, trenching operations, backfill, and materials handling.
  • Ensure crews are maximizing productivity while minimizing rework and delays.
  • Safely operate micro trenching equipment (e.g., Ditch Witch, Vermeer saws), vac trucks, and other specialty tools.
  • Monitor equipment uses, perform basic troubleshooting, and report maintenance needs.
  • Accurately complete daily production logs, safety records, and time tracking.
  • Collect field data necessary for project reporting and as-builts.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, developers, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams.
  • Address on-site customer inquiries professionally and proactively.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2–5 years of underground telecommunications construction experience, with leadership/foreman experience preferred.
  • Practical experience with micro trenching equipment and methods, ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and best practices.
