Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is currently seeking a Shop Technician to join our team in San Antonio, TX! The Shop Technician will provide assistance to assemble, test and maintain company equipment.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Analyze root causes of equipment failures and propose corrective actions.
- Perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs and replacements.
- Read and understand technical manuals for equipment operations and maintenance.
- Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
- Develop preventive maintenance procedures to avoid equipment failures.
- Maintain the facility clean, safe and organized.
- Clean and lubricate equipment on regular basis.
- Provide assistance and job trainings to workers when needed.
- Maintain documentation of equipment maintenance and repair procedures for future reference procedures.
- Maintain inventory control of equipment tools and parts.
- Propose improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Develop cost reduction initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus two (2) years of experience in a related field.
- Experience may substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years
- Knowledge of methods, systems and components, and materials used in repair and servicing of vehicles and other equipment including, motorized heavy equipment and trailers
- Knowledge of various types of vehicle diagnostic testing and analysis equipment and tools used in vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Proficient in oral and written communication.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
- Ability to follow safety practices and procedures needed to operate equipment safely, understand and follow work-related instructions and directions.
- Must supply your own tools. Company does not provide tools.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other Bartlett Cocke employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Essential duties are performed in a service center environment with exposure to a variety of motorized equipment, spare parts, tools, oil and lubrication, corrosive liquids, and other potentially hazardous materials.
- Incumbent may be exposed to loud noise, warm and cold conditions, standing for long periods, frequent stooping and bending, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Individuals will need to have good eye-and-hand coordination and read and write in dimly lit conditions
- Class "C" Driver's license preferred.
