Installation Technician, Building Maintenance
We are looking for a skilled Plumber/Pipefitter to join our HVAC and Plumbing construction team. This role is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems for commercial and/or residential projects, including hydronic HVAC systems, water supply, drainage, and gas lines. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of piping systems, can interpret construction drawings, and is committed to safety and quality workmanship.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, assemble, and secure piping systems including water, gas, drainage, and hydronic HVAC piping
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and isometric drawings
Measure, cut, thread, groove, and bend pipe using hand and power tools
Install valves, hangers, supports, and related piping components
Perform system pressure testing, leak detection, and troubleshooting
Assist with installation of boilers, chillers, pumps, and other mechanical equipment
Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and project specifications
Coordinate with HVAC mechanics, welders, and other trades on-site
Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
Document work progress and communicate with supervisors
High school diploma or GED (trade school or apprenticeship preferred)
2+ years of experience in plumbing or pipe fitting within construction
Knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and HVAC piping systems (hydronic, chilled water, steam)
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
Experience with pipe materials such as copper, PVC, PEX, steel, and cast iron
Familiarity with local plumbing codes and safety regulations
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Journeyman or Apprentice Plumbing License (as required by state/local jurisdiction)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Welding or brazing certifications (a plus)
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in tight spaces, and perform manual labor
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
Effective communication and time management skills
Active construction sites (commercial, industrial, and residential projects)
Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
May require overtime, weekends, or travel depending on project needs
