General Summary

A maintenance technician performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. Practical skills and knowledge in trades such as painting, plumbing, and electrical work are required.

• General maintenance and repairs of installed equipment and systems, including plumbing, compressed gas systems, pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, and electrical motors.
• Perform or assist in rebuilding pumps and compressors, replacing bearings and seals, repairing or replacing plumbing systems or components, installing treaded or sweeped pipe segments, repairing or replacing refrigeration components, and maintaining installed irrigation systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Ability to perform most complex and unusual tasks of the craft without supervision.
• Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assist others as part of the maintenance team as required, and perform other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
• Mentor and train others to develop strong working relationships and best practices.

• HVAC services, installation and repair of environmental‑control systems; knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipe fitting, and structural layout with EPA certification desired.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook desired.
• High school graduate, technical or trade school certificates in related field desired.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, and maintain constant arm extensions.
• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to an extent that is disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards that could result in cuts, bruises, etc.
• Must be able to pass a local background check and obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
