Schedule Requirements: Must be available to work a flexible schedule during the week, including weekends and holidays.

Role:

A Golf Course Mechanic (or Equipment Technician) is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of specialized equipment.

This includes reel and rotary mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and golf carts. They ensure machinery is safe, sharp, and operational for daily turf management.

• Preventative Maintenance:
  Develop and execute a strict preventative maintenance schedule (oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements) to minimize equipment downtime.
• Diagnostics & Repair:
  Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on both gasoline and diesel engines.
• Reel Grinding & Mower Setup:
  Sharpen mower blades, perform reel grinding, and adjust cutting units to precise heights according to the Golf Superintendent’s exact standards.
• Parts & Inventory Management:
  Oversee the shop parts inventory, track repair costs, and maintain accurate service records using specialized computer systems.
• Welding & Fabrication:
  Perform light welding, metal fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed.
• Safety & Compliance:
  Maintain a clean, organized shop and ensure all repairs meet OSHA and environmental safety regulations.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule through the week
