Job Responsibilities
This trainee position focuses on learning the mechanics of fire alarm system installation. Responsibilities include assisting with routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision. The trainee will support diagnosis and evaluation of systems requiring servicing, troubleshoot inspection issues, and may install and test fire alarm systems under the guidance of a Fire Alarm Technician.
Qualifications• Experience in construction or a similar field with demonstrated electrical skills or related training preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal work instructions and directions.
• Ability to work independently and complete duties with moderate supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while meeting time frames under pressure.
• Demonstrated initiative to learn trade skills.
• Ability to read labels, signage and directions and perform basic math computation.
• Strong organization skills, positive attitude, and rapid learning ability.
• Adherence to and implementation of safety guidelines and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes, a plus.
• Successful completion of a drug test and pre‑employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
