As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be the go-to expert for diagnosing HVAC system performance, troubleshooting electrical issues, and keeping systems running smoothly. You'll play a key part in managing service contracts, handling projects, and responding to service calls while fostering strong relationships with our valued customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Diagnose HVAC system performance through observation, testing and setup as required by trade/position and type/size.
  • Proficient in the electrical diagnostics of HVAC equipment.
  • Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Perform disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial or residential HVAC equipment to perform troubleshooting and planned maintenance as indicated in the service agreement.
  • Complete service contracts, quoted projects and demand service calls while maintaining profitability.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and explain work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Participate in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by department policies and procedures.
  • Safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer as evidenced by past driving performance record.
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements.
  • Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant HVAC Service Tech experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Two-year technical degree in related field is preferred.
  • Must possess required registrations, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position.
  • Universal EPA Certified.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • HVAC Unitary:
    Split systems, VRF/VRV, Roof Top packaged systems, Self-contained systems water‑cooled and air‑cooled, CRAC units – Liebert/Data Aire/Stultz.
  • Proficient in air cooled chiller service and repair.
  • HVAC Airside skills:
    Fan Powered Box, and VAV. VFD.
  • Air Handler:
    Theory of AHU operation and Theory of control valve operation.
  • Exhaust fans:
    Centrifugal Up blast Roof Fans and Centrifugal Inline Fan.
  • Cooling Tower:
    Ability to perform maintenance on cooling towers.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, On call, Weekends as needed.

Expected hours: 40–60 per week
