Job DescriptionWestern Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self‑motivated, top‑notch individuals to help serve our customers as a Skilled Laborer at our San Antonio branch. As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the craft.
- Concrete Finisher – Hand patching, pouring and finishing concrete.
- Skilled Laborer – Chipping out concrete, hauling debris, lifting heavy objects, working at heights (not being afraid of heights is important for this role).
- Finish Caulker – Cut out sealant, pack and shoot new sealant at a high quality.
- Experience in a trade or craft is preferred.
- Demonstrate sufficient reading, writing, and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in high temperatures.
- Use logical step‑by‑step procedures with a variety of materials and skills.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy; judge straight lines, spaces, and proportions.
- Read drawings.
- Identify existing and predictable hazards in work surroundings, including unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous conditions.
- Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and other objects; carry tools and equipment; and see well (with or without correction).
- Work at heights and extreme temperatures while wearing company safety equipment.
- Practical construction experience preferred.
- Own the hand tools of the trade.
- May be required to work weekends, nights, and out of town.
- Have reliable transportation.
Compensation for this role is determined using a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal equity, market benchmarks, and the cost of labor in the different geographic locations where we operate.
In addition to base pay, this position may also be eligible for:
