Position: Lucy- Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator (Non driver)

Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator

The Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various heavy civil and mechanical equipment on construction sites, without the requirement of a driver's license for vehicle operation. This role is crucial for supporting construction activities by moving materials, excavating, grading, and performing other tasks as directed by site supervision.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate a variety of heavy civil and mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other machinery as required.
  • Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and governmental regulations while operating equipment.
  • Excavate, grade, backfill, and move materials according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and equipment on job sites.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other personnel on site.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating a variety of heavy civil and mechanical equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equipment safety procedures and operational best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents.
  • Strong understanding of site safety regulations and the ability to work in a safety-conscious manner.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
