The Operator role at Penhall Company and Penhall Technologies is a full‑time, on‑site position based in San Antonio, TX. The Operator will perform day‑to‑day tasks related to concrete cutting, breaking, excavation, grinding, and GPR scanning, following company safety standards and operational procedures.
Responsibilities include operating and maintaining specialized equipment, interpreting job specifications, assisting with site setup and cleanup, and supporting accurate GPR data collection and analysis. The Operator will work closely with project teams to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with client requirements. This role may involve travel to local job sites, adherence to strict safety guidelines, and consistent communication with supervisors and clients.
Qualifications- Experience operating heavy machinery or specialized construction equipment, with a focus on concrete cutting, breaking, excavation, or grinding.
- Ability to learn and apply Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning techniques, including following technical instructions and supporting data collection.
- Strong commitment to safety practices, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE), adherence to OSHA and company safety standards, and hazard awareness.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment inspection, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Reliable work ethic with the ability to follow directions, work in a team environment, and communicate clearly with supervisors and clients.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and working in varying outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Prior experience in construction, concrete services, or related trades is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
