The Pipelayer helper assists the pipelayer laying various types of pipes. Assists with any of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Assists with adjusting pipe to line and grade.
- Assists in smoothing bottom of trench to proper elevation using shovel.
- Assists in joining either mechanical or slip joint pipes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum one plus years’ experience working in the construction field in similar or related position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not supervise others.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions may be in a garage or at a worksite. May be exposed to arduous weather conditions such as extreme heat and cold. Must be physically fit and able to lift over 50 lbs. throughout the day. Will be required to bend, stoop, or reach. Must have use of both hands and good eyesight.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Hard hats may be required if on a worksite along with long sleeve shirt and pants. If working in a traffic area a safety vest is required. Must wear work boots. Required PPE will be provided during onboarding.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE
Must have knowledge of various types of pipes and grades as well as shovels, pipes and various digging equipment.
