Senior Structured Cabling Technician – San Antonio, TX
Join Next Level Technician as a Senior Structured Cabling Technician in San Antonio, TX! Earn $25–$32/hr, enjoy weekly pay, benefits, and steady work with a national leader in low voltage staffing. We are seeking a seasoned data/structured cabling technician with strong hands‑on experience who is ready to take on advanced commercial projects.
Responsibilities- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A.
- Perform data cabling installations in commercial, industrial, and enterprise environments.
- Pull, route, dress, and organize cabling using proper installation standards.
- Build out and maintain MDFs, IDFs, telecom rooms, racks, patch panels, and cable management systems.
- Install cable pathways including J‑hooks, ladder racks, cable trays, and conduit.
- Perform cable labeling, documentation, and quality control inspections.
- Test and certify cabling installations using industry‑standard testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot cabling issues and identify solutions efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low voltage drawings.
- Work independently while maintaining high‑quality installation standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members.
- Travel throughout Southern Texas when applicable.
- Work overnight shifts when required based on project needs.
- 3+ years of commercial structured cabling experience preferred.
- Strong hands‑on installation experience in data/structured cabling.
- Experience installing, terminating, and testing:
Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A. - Experience with fiber optic cabling a plus.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications and data infrastructure.
- Experience with MDF/IDF buildouts, racks, patch panels, and cable management.
- Knowledge of cable testing equipment and certification processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot cabling and network infrastructure issues.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have basic hand tools and PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi‑vis vest, steel‑toe boots.
- Willingness to travel throughout Southern Texas as needed.
- Ability to work overnight shifts when applicable.
- BICSI, OSHA, Lift certifications, and manufacturer certifications are a plus.
