About The Company
4C2 Industrial is currently seeking a WELDER APPRENTICE. The Apprentice will be responsible for assisting craft workers with a variety of basic physical tasks, such as carrying tools and materials or helping set up equipment. Depending on the trade, the individual may assist with installs, repairs, maintenance, and inspections, all of which involve the use of or exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, or hazardous substances and materials.
AboutThe Role
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily.
- Provide assistance on the job (certain duties will depend on your trade)
- Prepare and clean construction sites
- Gather materials needed for workers on the job site
- Assist in building structures that require the use of heavy equipment and machinery
- Unload and load materials, read plans and specifications
- Transport tools and equipment to the work area
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools and equipment
- Clean, maintain, and service equipment and tools
- Safely operate and tend machinery and/or equipment
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential duties
- Work with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Exposure to varying outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals, fumes, and odors
- Ability to work on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, in ditches, and excavations
- Experience working at heights, such as on ladders, scaffolds, and platforms on single- and multi-story buildings
- Ability to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including climbing, lifting, reaching, gripping, stooping, bending, walking, standing, and carrying
- Capability to work in overhead structures and around/beneath machinery
- Adaptability to changing demands and priorities while completing job duties proficiently
This position is designated as safety‑sensitive because it requires the ability to concentrate for long periods while operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, and motor vehicles. The work often involves hazardous materials, elevated heights, and confined spaces. A lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death.
Skills & Competencies- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Understanding of traditional building materials, practices, and techniques
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance (preferred)
- Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indications to ensure machinery is operating properly
- Mathematical, mechanical, and technical skills (dependent on trade)
- Strong communication skills with employees and customers
- Willingness to work overtime and non‑standard schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Team‑player mindset and ability to travel and work out of town (a plus)
