Position Summary
The Service Technician assists in maintaining the physical integrity of the community by responding to service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting daily maintenance operations. This role plays a key part in resident satisfaction and overall community performance.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to resident service requests promptly and complete repairs in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with preventative maintenance and property inspections
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and work areas
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, supervisors, and team members
- Support day-to-day maintenance operations and team initiatives
- Participate in on-call maintenance rotation as scheduled
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: 1–2 years of maintenance experience preferred, ideally within residential community management. Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliance repair required.
- Certifications: EPA and HVAC certification required.
- Technical & Professional
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems such as Yardi, Entrata, or Real Page preferred; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; knowledge of Fair Housing laws and best practices.
- Technical Proficiency – Demonstrates solid knowledge of apartment maintenance functions and repair procedures.
- Customer Service – Provides prompt, courteous, and professional service to residents.
- Time Management – Prioritizes and completes work orders efficiently.
- Problem Solving – Diagnoses issues accurately and implements practical solutions.
- Safety Awareness – Follows safety guidelines and uses tools and materials properly.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required. Regular use of hand tools and maintenance equipment. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, and varying noise levels.
Primarily on-site within apartment homes, common areas, and exterior grounds. This role involves hands-on work in both indoor and outdoor environments in a fast-paced, service-driven atmosphere.
