Position Overview

THIS POSITION WILL SERVICE THE LAREDO, TX AREA.

Johnson Controls is looking for a HVAC Technician to support the fast-growing HVAC business in North America.

• Provide high level service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, delivering solutions and outcomes at commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Recommend and implement efficiency improvements, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
• Assist with startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket services for residential and/or ducted products, air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs and rooftop ducted units.
• Travel 10‑20% to support branch customers.
• Participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.

• Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
• Minimum of 3 years practical experience with residential and/or ducted products, air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs or rooftop ducted units.
• Strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience, including repairing centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and system components.
• Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
• Valid driver’s license, Universal EPA refrigerants license and applicable state or local licensing.
• Ability to write and communicate problem, cause and corrective actions to customers.

• Hourly rate: $40.77 as determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
