Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Plumber to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial plumbing and drainage systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable building codes. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated professional with strong troubleshooting skills, experience working independently, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship.
This position also requires participation in preventive maintenance programs, project installations, and emergency response for plumbing-related issues.
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, fittings, fixtures, and drainage systems.
- Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, leaks, clogs, and emergency repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure plumbing systems operate efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
- Collaborate with contractors, electricians, and other trades on renovation and construction projects.
- Assist with new equipment and plumbing system installations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and labor hours.
- Estimate materials and assist with project bids and cost estimates when required.
- Ensure compliance with all building codes, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to emergency situations, including equipment failures, plumbing leaks, and flooding.
- Perform light maintenance duties and assist with facility projects as needed.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Commercial or Journeyman Plumber.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must provide your own plumbing tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, or institutional facilities.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems in large commercial buildings.
- Proficient in using plumbing hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience working with:
- PVC
- CPVC
- PEX
- Copper
- Cast Iron piping
- Basic math skills, including measurement conversions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment, elevated work areas, moisture, heat, cold, and moderate to loud noise levels.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all workplace safety procedures.
