As a Journeyman Electrician you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment for commercial or residential lighting.

The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial & residential lighting and electrical maintenance, as well as promote the core values of CRI Electric, Inc. through excellent customer service and assuring the safety of all work.

A Journeyman Electrician will:

§Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.

§Able to read and follow blueprints.

§Able to bend pipe.

§Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.

§Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.

§Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, electrical feeders, power systems and/or switch gear, ground rods.

§Repairs faulty equipment or systems.

§Work from ladders, scaffolds, (16 feet +) or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.

§Take pride in producing clean and organized electrical work.

§Take responsibility for company tools and equipment used at your jobsite and ensure they are used and stored property.

§Keep your assigned company vehicle clean, organized and secured.

Keep fuel credit card secure too.

§Keep your assigned company vehicle fueled and serviced as needed and turn in the appropriate paperwork when requested.

§Able to work out of town, weekends, holidays or OT with short notice.

§Work “On Call” as scheduled and follow company policy.

§Work in Service Division or Commercial Division as needed.

Residential work as needed.

§Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous..

§Able to troubleshoot with great accuracy in reasonable time frame.

§Able to lead and manage a jobsite and/or crew of a minimum of 3.

§Able to take the role of jobsite Foremen as needed

§Train or delegate tasks to apprentice or crew so to increase productivity.

§Follow all CRI Electric policies to the best of his/her ability and enforce crew to follow all CRI policy & safety policy.

§Attend Company and Safety Meetings.

§Minimum of OSHA 10 training.

§Complete continuing education as necessary to keep journeyman license current.

§Meet attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.

§Communicate with office staff as necessary.

§Complete and submit all necessary paperwork to office staff or Master Electrician as requested while meeting deadlines.

§Maintain current journeyman electrician license.

§
Perform other duties as assigned by Master Electrician, leadman/foreman, PM or PC.

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MUST have current State Issued Journeyman Electrician’s License
  • Own hand tools as required by CRI Electric, Inc.
  • Must possess valid Texas driver’s license
  • Pass a criminal background check by Choice Screening
  • Pass random drug test
  • Complete necessary paperwork with great accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Provide your manager with photos of your work prior to and ending a task thru email or text message.
  • Able to work with a partner, solo or crew.
  • Experience in leading projects large or small.
  • Experience in lighting a plus!
