Salary Range: $34.24 To $48.76 Hourly
About the role:The BESS Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing fire alarm systems that support Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role plays a critical part in ensuring site safety and system reliability.
You’ll work hands ‑ on with fire alarm equipment, troubleshoot issues in the field, and ensure all systems meet applicable codes and standards. This role is best suited for someone who is technically strong, detail ‑ oriented , and comfortable working independently in industrial or commercial environments.
Responsibilities:- Maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in Battery Energy Storage Systems.
- Program and test fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarm systems, including diagnosing and repairing faulty components.
- Collaborate with customers to customize fire alarm system settings based on their specific needs.
- Keepaccuraterecords of all installations, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in fire alarm system technology.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Valid Texas FAL (Fire Alarm Technician License ) is required.
- Familiarity with NFPA (70, 72, and 101) requirements for fire alarm system installation and testing
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements for alarm system installation.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and specialized equipment for installation and repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems.
- Ability to detect and resolve problems with cabling and wiring connections.
- Comfortable reading and working from technical diagrams and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
