Field technician

T. Madison LLC DBA Traffic Plan seeks a Field Technician / Traffic Control Technician to support Transportation & Logistics projects in our Field Operations & Site Management department. In this field-based role, you will set up, monitor, and remove temporary traffic control for construction and utility work zones, ensuring safe vehicle and pedestrian flow. You'll follow traffic control plans, place cones, signs, and barricades, and communicate clearly with crews and the public.

Responsibilities

• Set up, monitor, and remove temporary traffic control devices in roadway work zones
• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using signs, flagging techniques, and radios
• Follow engineered traffic control plans to maintain safe work areas
• Inspect and maintain cones, signs, arrow boards, and related equipment
• Communicate with field supervisors, crews, and the public in a professional manner
• Observe and report hazards, near-misses, and incidents promptly
• Work outdoors in varying weather and road conditions while standing for long periods
• Support crew mobilization, site cleanup, and loading/unloading of equipment
