AME Seat Tech - Aircraft Mechanic
Join a dynamic team as an Aircraft Mechanic specializing in the maintenance and modification of F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and F-18 Super Hornet fighter jets. This role involves working on aircraft modifications and ensuring the functionality and safety of various egress systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain aircraft egress systems, including seat and canopy ejection, gaseous and liquid oxygen systems, ejection seats, fire extinguishing systems, air conditioning, cabin and cockpit heat, pressurization, and ventilation.
- Remove and install oxygen system valves, gauges, converters, and regulators.
- Inspect, remove, install, and rig ejection seats, shoulder harnesses, and lap belts.
- Inspect, remove, install, and adjust firing mechanisms and cartridges for ejection seats.
- Perform daily, preflight, post-flight, and other periodic aircraft inspections.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5-7 years of recent experience in depot-level/heavy checks on any aircraft.
- Experience in equipment overhauls and modifications.
- Navy/Marine Corp AME NACES certification required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CDI or CDQAR roles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with military aircraft, specifically F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and F-18 Super Hornet.

Work Environment
The work schedule consists of two shifts: 1st Shift from Monday to Friday, 5:30 am to 2:30 pm, and 2nd Shift from Monday to Friday, 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with optional overtime. The work takes place in an open-bay, non-climate controlled environment. Employees have the option to expense $100 per year for Steel Toed Shoes. Flexibility to work any shift is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
