The Facility Control Tech Leader provides technical support in the field of electronic, pneumatic, HVAC building automation controls, security, fire, and energy management systems.

• Installs, oversees the maintenance, modifications, and repairs of electronic, pneumatic, HVAC building automation controls, security, fire, energy management systems, and other related systems.
• Ensures the comfort and safety of the University environment by assisting and ensuring the operation/integrity of energy management and related communications systems to include installing and modifying HVAC building automation controls, security, fire, laboratory and fume hood controls; upgrading or modifying campus systems to provide current code compliance; and lead in troubleshooting and repairs of control systems; and maintain software updates and associated hardware with building automation control systems;
  
  and upgrades or modifies systems to provide current code compliance.
• Supervises Facilities Control Technicians and Technical assistants to include prioritizing and delegating work assignments; and coordinating work of/with outside contractors.
• Supports development and updates of engineering documents/drawings for new and retrofit projects associated with HVAC building automation controls, security, and fire systems.
• Maintains adequate inventory of equipment and maintain records to ensure.

• High School Diploma, Vocational Training or Apprenticeship in a related field.
• Seven (7) years of related work experience.
• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

• Indoor and outdoor construction environments. Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards, hazardous chemicals, high pressure water and air systems, high speed equipment, confined spaces, and heights. Exposure to variable Texas weather conditions and/or physical hazards such as working in elevate and confined spaces; working in attics, sub-floors, machine rooms, on roofs, and other operational areas. Exposure may be prolonged. Exposure to various mechanical, electrical, laboratories, and other university spaces.
  
  Exposure to variety of construction and physical plant hazards including medium voltages (15KV), confined space, elevated heights, dust & dampness, high noise levels, outside weather and energized equipment & systems. Exposure to potential occupational hazards including toxic, biological, and chemical hazards within certain laboratory spaces. Exposure to elevated level of noise. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment when needed, to include: steel toe or non-slip shoes, eye protection, hardhat, back belt, body harness, biological protective gear, ear muffs or plugs, respirator, and arc flash protection.
