Electrical Service Journeyman

Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Performs field take offs of electrical projects when needed.

· Capable of pricing work when required by customer.

· Capable of dealing directly with the customer. Relates to scheduling, field take offs and pricing.

· Schedules work and perform man loading schedules as necessary.

· Performs and oversees all types of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems.

· Is responsible for crew or project safety performance. Assures employees are properly trained or instructed in performance of duties to which are assigned. Assures compliance with all Walker safety processes and protocols. Investigates or assists in investigation and reporting of any accident or safety incidents involving jobsite employees.

Employment is contingent upon satisfying all jobsite-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from any jobsite or from working with any of Walker’s partnering General Contractors, Owners, Customers, etc.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. Must have comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory and electrical code and its application to installations. Must be able to work occasional overtime as required. Must be available for the on-call rotation.

Licenses: Texas Electrical Journeyman’s License, current Texas Driver’s License.

Education: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent..

Experience Must have at least (2) years experience as a Service Technician 2

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employee, subcontractors and trades.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
• Ability to comprehend forms in space and understand relationships of plane and solid objects. May be used in such tasks as blueprint reading and in solving geometry problems. Frequently described as the ability to “visualize” objects of two and three dimensions, or to think visually of geometric forms.
• Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. The frequency of manipulation if frequently.
• Ability to move up or mount by using the hands or feet to include:

Ladders - Step stool, 8' to 10' ladder, extension ladder

Stairways - 3 or more flights

• To bend forward or down from the middle of the waist or the middle of the back, to bend, downwards, to lower oneself and/or to move freely on hands and knees between 20-50 times daily
• To stretch out, extend, or put forth a bodily part. To touch or grasp something, by extending or stretching. To touch, lift, hold or operate with the hands up to 50 times daily.
• To perceive or comprehend by the sense of sight.

Characteristics are:
Focus, Color perception or depth perception.

• The ability to operate or convey in a vehicle, car or commercial Vehicle
