Licensed Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

Wattsmith Electric is a licensed San Antonio electrical contractor (TECL 41806). We are hiring one journeyman electrician for a service truck.

The job: run residential service calls in San Antonio and the surrounding metro. Troubleshooting, panel and breaker work, dedicated circuits, EV chargers, surge protection, lighting, devices, and the rest of what a homeowner calls an electrician for. You diagnose, you present three options from our price book on a tablet, the customer approves a flat price before you start, and you do the work clean.

How you get paid:
Performance Pay. $16 an hour base for every hour you work, plus a share of what you collect each day: 12 percent up to $600, 16 percent from $600 to $900, 20 percent from $900 to $1,200, and 24 percent above that. A $1,200 day pays about $370. A $1,500 day pays about $488. Your raise comes from the same collections that keep the company running, so we never have a reason to hold it back.

401(k) with a 4 percent company match, vested on day one. Company van and fuel. Five-day week; the company runs seven days but you do not.

What we need: an active Texas journeyman license, three or more years of hands-on electrical work with residential service experience preferred, a clean driving record (background and MVR run through Checkr), your own hand tools, and the ability to explain a problem to a homeowner in their kitchen without talking down to them.

What you get from us that most shops do not: a flat-rate price book so you never argue about a price, a dispatcher who fills your day before you leave the shop, a company that answers its phone.
