Position Summary
Compass Connections, a Texas‑based non‑profit, seeks a qualified professional to support children and families through residential care, community‑based support, foster care, and adoption services.
Language Requirements- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science, plus 5 years of progressive employment experience with a social services or childcare agency or organization. - Preferred:
Graduate degree from an accredited program/institution in a related field.
- First Aid, CPR, Emergency Behavior Intervention.
- Required:
Four (4) years of related experience and/or training, including progressive supervision.
- Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
- Monitor program services, facilities, staff, children, and vehicles through frequent observation and evaluation.
- Develop proactive action plans for each assigned service area.
- Coordinate and facilitate budget management as liaison between departments and senior leadership.
- Provide timely feedback and support to personnel.
- Develop and maintain personnel work schedules to ensure proper coverage and ratios.
- Review staff documentation and personnel records for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Consult, provide feedback, review performance, and motivate subordinates.
- Adapt schedules to meet program needs based on changing workloads.
- Organize and manage time and resources to meet assignment deadlines.
- Supervise and participate in child assessments, admissions, and discharge processes as needed.
- Respond to external requests for authorized information regarding children.
- Provide or supervise crisis interventions involving children and/or families.
- Monitor facility video to ensure compliance with action plans and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and contribute to team decisions and operations.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested.
- Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including evacuations during emergencies.
- Maintain confidentiality across all service populations and program operations.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the Compass Connections System employee handbook.
- Facilitate and/or supervise programming, treatment, and discharge of children's placement and release.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation per agency policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Navigate between facility areas efficiently to meet deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Recruit and support foster parents as part of the foster care program.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and ongoing random drug screens.
- Provide proof of work eligibility status.
- Pass a pre‑employment and biennial criminal background check.
- Respond sensitively to cultural and socio‑economic characteristics.
- Work collaboratively with staff, service providers, and professionals.
- Provide crisis intervention as trained.
- Maintain composure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Be computer literate to meet role responsibilities.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures.
All employees must receive an annual Influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption, as per CDC recommendations. Proof of vaccination is required upon hiring.
