* Duties and Responsibilities:

*** Identifies, interviews and researches defendants eligible for release on Electronic Monitoring (ELM)/Global Positioning System (GPS), Substance Abuse treatment, and/or Mental Health utilizing Criminal Justice Information System, National Criminal Information System and Texas Criminal Information System
* Coordinates and conducts drug and alcohol testing as required by court
* Coordinates the release of inmates approved for ELM, Substance Abuse or Mental health treatment supervision and transports defendants home or to treatment centers upon release
* Apprises defendants of conditions of bond such as treatment, ELM and drug/alcohol testing schedule
* Enforces and verifies compliance with conditions of bond and/or proper operation of ELM equipment on a 24-7 basis, by conducting scheduled and unscheduled field work to defendant’s home, reference homes, place of employment, treatment center, judge’s location, magistrate court and/or the adult detention center
* Assembles, installs, programs, and troubleshoots electronic monitoring equipment
* Schedules and participates in defendant conferences and counseling sessions to address program compliance or violations
* Maintains detailed supervision files on defendants on ELM, in residential and outpatient treatment programs
* Verifies defendant’s appointments and hours of employment in order to allow defendant to leave range of ELM equipment
* Testifies in court regarding defendants’ compliance or non-compliance while on Pretrial Services Office supervision
* Calculates, collects and reports fees
* Prepares reports of program statistics such as releases, re-arrests bond forfeitures, and closed files;
* Performs related duties as required

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor‘s Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice or a closely related field, and two (2) years’ experience criminal justice system; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
** Preferred

Qualification:

*** Bilingual in English and Spanish
* Good knowledge of the criminal justice system; knowledge of the Criminal Justice Information System, National Criminal Information Center and Texas Criminal Information Center databases; knowledge of available substance abuse programs and facilities and Pretrial Case Management System (CMS)
* Skill in interpreting regulatory legislation regarding detention and release guidelines; considerable skill in effective and efficient case management
* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to communicate effectively with hostile, abusive or irrational individuals; ability to operate personal computer and basic office equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, outside organizations, law enforcement agencies and the public
* Must obtain National Criminal Information Center and Texas Criminal Information Center certification within six (6) months of employment
* Must have a valid must have a valid driver’s license
* Required to successfully complete urinalysis testing training session offered by County contract vendor for certification
* Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
* Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
* Required to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts
* Required to be on call 24-hours a day
* May be required to work at more than one location during a work shift
* May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
