The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) seeks to hire a Case Manager for the Refugee Resettlement Program. Under the supervision of the Resettlement Program Manager, the RR Case Manager will implement extensive case management services in a deliberate, effective, and timely manner to eligible clients while maintaining compliance with established federal standards and requirements. The RR Case Manager will contribute to the client’s community orientation, early employment, and self‑sufficiency.
This position will be based in San Antonio, TX and is temporary, grant‑funded with an anticipated end date of September 30, 2026.
- Provide case management services to refugees and other displaced persons, including pre‑arrival arrangement, coordination of housing, orientation/ client education, and enrollment in basic needs programs within program requirements and time frames, using in‑house services and external referrals.
- Provide Cultural Orientation to all adults in the case load within 90 days.
- Ensure timely requests for all cash assistance in accordance with federal guidelines and within 90 days.
- Document all visits and case management activities in accordance with federal requirements and Resettlement leadership.
- Ensure transportation for all newly or recently arrived clients to initial appointments as required, complying with child safety laws.
- Assist clients with engagement in activities that facilitate their self‑sufficiency and independent task performance.
- Identify needs and barriers and communicate follow‑up to case managers and Program Manager, as needed.
- Maintain organized case files as outlined by the funder and Resettlement leadership and submit all required information in a timely manner.
- Work some evenings and weekends as required; flex schedule will be arranged as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years of experience working with refugee populations and/or community services.
- Ability to communicate professionally in English, written and oral.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and insurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, training, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- More than 2 years of experience in social services and/or the non‑profit field.
- More than 2 years of experience utilizing interpreters/translators.
- Fluency in one of the languages spoken by clients, preferably Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Pashto, or Arabic.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of G‑Suite and/or Microsoft Office and ability to learn an internal case management database.
- More than 2 years of experience working in a diverse, cross‑cultural environment.
- Physical requirements may include carrying up to 25 lbs, loading and unloading items, standing, and carrying items.
