POSITION SUMMARY

The Resident Assistant lives onsite and serves as a mentor, advocate, and resource for Sunrise Lofts residents. This position supports residents as they transition toward self-sufficiency by fostering a safe, welcoming, and engaged community while promoting positive relationships among residents, property management, and resident services staff.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Experience working in community engagement, residential services, social services, or customer service preferred. Experience with conflict resolution, mediation, or crisis intervention preferred. Experience working with diverse populations and community stakeholders preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to build trusting relationships with residents. Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Knowledge of community resources and support services. Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment. Strong organization, planning, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to remain calm during emergencies and stressful situations. Empathy, cultural awareness, and a commitment to resident success.

Working Conditions:

Position requires living onsite at Sunrise Lofts. Occasional evenings, weekend, and on-call responsibilities. Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and community partners.

Mental Demands:
Manage multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. Maintain emotional control during crisis situations. Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
