Job Overview
Data Engineer – Fulltime contract role (8+ months) –
Location:
San Antonio, Texas.
- Design, develop, and unit test new or existing ETL/Data integration solutions to meet business requirements.
- Provide daily production support for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, including jobs in Informatica/Mule Soft and Oracle PL/SQL, and manage high‑severity incidents and problem resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues such as data quality defects.
- Deliver increased productivity and effectiveness through rapid delivery of high‑quality applications.
- Provide work estimates and communicate status of assignments.
- Assist in QA efforts by providing input for test cases and supporting test case execution.
- Analyze transaction errors, troubleshoot software issues, develop bug fixes, and participate in performance‑tuning efforts.
- Develop Informatica/Mule Soft mappings and complex Oracle PL/SQL programs for the Data Warehouse.
- Select and use Dev Ops tools for continuous integration, builds, and monitoring of solutions.
- Contribute to the area budget when required.
- Make independent decisions and recommendations that affect the section, department, and/or division.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
- Experience in a data integration role.
- Experience using Apache Spark, NiFi and/or Kafka.
- Experience using Python.
- Experience integrating enterprise software using ETL modules.
- Knowledge of data architecture, structures, and principles with ability to critique data and system designs.
- Understanding of big‑data technologies and platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Map Reduce, Hive, HBase, Mongo
DB). - Experience integrating data from web services in XML, JSON, flat‑file formats, SOAP.
- Knowledge of core concepts of RESTful API Modeling Language (RAML 1.0) and designing with Mule Soft solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in API Management.
- Proficiency with Mule Soft Anypoint Studio, Informatica Power Center, Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, MySQL.
- Knowledge of Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
- Familiarity with cloud‑based architecture.
- Experience with data analysis & model prototyping using Spark/Python/SQL and common data‑science tools (Num Py, Pandas, scikit‑learn, Tensor Flow).
- Experience in a technology organization.
Pay Range:
Between $40 – $45 per hour.
