Description
Erias Ventures is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with experience in AWS, Go programming, and a strong Linux foundation. The role will contribute to the development of custom software components and the integration of open‑source code to solve complex problems using cutting‑edge Big Data and Cloud technologies.
Work is performed in a hybrid environment with partial telework. The successful candidate will work autonomously to identify and solve problems while pursuing broader strategic goals set by team Architects.
Key Responsibilities- Strong system integration with a focus on enhancing, optimizing, or strengthening existing codebases.
- Use infrastructure‑as‑code tools to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
- Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software, from prototype to operational applications.
- Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders on additional duties as assigned.
- At least nine (9) years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or seven (7) years of relevant experience with a master’s degree, or thirteen (13) years of relevant experience with a high school diploma.
- Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
- Experience with Kubernetes (or a vendor flavor), Ansible, and storage layers such as Ceph, Rook, or Longhorn.
- Programming skills in Python or Go.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications, and proficiency in shell scripting.
- Excellent problem‑solving, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with an average of 1–2 days per week at the San Antonio, TX office.
- Familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems (e.g., Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Git Lab‑CI, Travis‑CI, or Jenkins.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies and standard tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Git Hub, Git Lab).
- Experience with puppet, Ansible, Maven, virtualization (ovirt, Proxmox, VMware).
- DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required.
- Competitive salary range: $150,000 – $265,000 based on education and experience.
