Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AS/400 COBOL Developer to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AS/400 (IBM iSeries), COBOL, DB2, RPG/RPGLE, and SQL
, with a proven track record of developing, maintaining, and supporting business‑critical applications.
Required Skills:
- 8–10+ years of experience with AS/400 (IBM iSeries)
- Strong hands‑on experience with COBOL, DB2, RPG/RPGLE, and SQL
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications on the IBM i platform
- Strong knowledge of DB2 database design, SQL development, and performance tuning
- Experience troubleshooting complex batch processing and interactive applications
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
- Experience with CI/CD processes in the IBM i environment is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support mission‑critical AS/400 COBOL and RPG applications.
- Design, optimize, and maintain DB2 databases and SQL queries.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve complex production and batch processing issues.
- Collaborate with modernization teams to integrate AS/400 applications with modern distributed systems.
- Participate in application enhancements, maintenance, and performance optimization.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.
