Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AS/400 COBOL Developer to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AS/400 (IBM iSeries), COBOL, DB2, RPG/RPGLE, and SQL
, with a proven track record of developing, maintaining, and supporting business‑critical applications.

Required Skills:

• 8–10+ years of experience with AS/400 (IBM iSeries)
• Strong hands‑on experience with COBOL, DB2, RPG/RPGLE, and SQL
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications on the IBM i platform
• Strong knowledge of DB2 database design, SQL development, and performance tuning
• Experience troubleshooting complex batch processing and interactive applications
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Experience with CI/CD processes in the IBM i environment is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support mission‑critical AS/400 COBOL and RPG applications.
• Design, optimize, and maintain DB2 databases and SQL queries.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve complex production and batch processing issues.
• Collaborate with modernization teams to integrate AS/400 applications with modern distributed systems.
• Participate in application enhancements, maintenance, and performance optimization.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.
