PurposeDr. Franco Pestilli is hiring an Infrastructure Software Engineer to design and deploy scalable data infrastructure for neuroscience research.
Responsibilities- Architect and implement scalable, efficient database solutions for large neuroscience data volumes, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Build and manage cloud‑based infrastructure to support data storage, processing, and analysis; leverage cloud services for availability and performance.
- Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes in a cloud environment.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems, code, and processes, and promote best practices for software development and data management.
- Collaborate with research teams to understand data requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet their needs; communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, addressing scalability, latency, and retrieval issues.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (advanced degrees or equivalent experience considered).
- Experience: At least one year of back‑end software development with a focus on database infrastructure and cloud computing.
