Skills & Experience:

5-12 years of SAP ABAP development experience. Strong experience with SAP S/4

HANA. Experience developing and supporting CDS Views and OData Services. Strong object-oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) development experience. Full lifecycle custom ABAP development experience including:
Enhancement Framework BADIs BAPIs Custom Reports Interfaces Enhancements Experience taking high-level functional requirements and independently developing technical solutions. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, MVC architecture, and data modeling concepts. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

Skills & Experience:

2+ years of experience developing CDS Views. Experience delivering complex ABAP development efforts with minimal supervision. Experience integrating new SAP capabilities with existing custom-built solutions. Familiarity with modern S/4

HANA coding standards and development best practices. SAP functional knowledge within Plant Maintenance (PM), Work Management, Scheduling, Sales & Distribution, Procurement, or related SAP modules. Previous Oil & Gas industry experience, particularly within refinery operations or maintenance environments. Experience working within large enterprise SAP environments.

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to support Valero's Routine Maintenance Enhancement (RME) program. This initiative focuses on improving refinery maintenance planning, scheduling, dispatching, and work management processes by enhancing existing SAP solutions and increasing operational visibility for business users. The project is approximately 20% complete, and this consultant will join an established team to help design, develop, and deliver enhancements throughout the remainder of the implementation.

This role requires strong technical ABAP development skills, the ability to work independently from functional requirements, and comfort collaborating with both technical and functional stakeholders. While industry experience within oil & gas is preferred, candidates with strong SAP functional knowledge and experience supporting complex enterprise applications will also be considered. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and enhance SAP solutions within the S/4

HANA environment. Partner with technical leads and SAP functional analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop and maintain custom ABAP applications, enhancements, interfaces, reports, and integrations. Create and optimize CDS Views and OData services to support business processes and reporting needs. Produce technical design documents and supporting development artifacts. Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during testing and deployment activities.

Participate in solution design discussions and provide technical recommendations. Maintain a strong understanding of the application's architecture and database structure. Follow Valero development standards and change management processes.
