Position Summary:
Employee and Student Wellness Coordinator (Graduate Assistant) is responsible for assisting in the development, direction, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive Employee and Student Wellness program. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Sports and Wellness.
This is a student position open to current UIW students.
Essential Functions- Assist with events organized for UIW Employees and UIW Students.
- Assist with the fulfillment of the wellness mission, which will include but not limited to promotions, reports, budgets, reporting, the UIW Health and Wellness Hub and research of other wellness and health promotion programs.
- Assist with grant fulfillment and completion of application.
- Assist with the UIW annual health and wellness fair.
- Coordinate programs meeting seven dimensions of wellness with other UIW departments.
- Assist with marketing and outreach efforts.
- Coordinate and adhere to departmental risk management efforts for all programs and facilities in areas of responsibility.
- Serve on departmental, university, and/or national committees.
- Understands and represents the mission and vision of UIW and UIW Sports and Wellness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand employee workplace health and promotions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work during normal business work hours.
- Ability to prepare financial reports, statistical reports, budget management, and development for the wellness programs.
- Ability to plan, organize, schedule and promote wellness activities and programs.
- Ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Current UIW graduate student
Required Work ExperienceTwo (2) years of work experience in a sports management industry with emphasis in special event planning and operations.
Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsCPR and First Aid Certification (if expired, must be completed within 3 months of employment)
Work Hours- 20 hours per week required.
- Events and programs occur during normal working hours, Monday through Friday.
- Some weekends may be needed as required.
