To provide support to the department by creating outreach materials, maintaining a shared events calendar, and assisting with coordination for professional development event and engagement activities. This role helps raise visibility of department research and academic activities.
Responsibilities- Draft and design outreach materials for seminars, events, programs, and announcements
- Maintain a shared event calendar; research and monitor relevant department events.
- Assist with the logistics and setup of in-person and virtual events, including seminars, recruitment sessions, and meetings.
- Format slides, signage, flyers, and other promotional assets.
- Help with event logistics such as room reservations, catering orders, materials prep, and event breakdown.
- Other event or administrative duties as assigned.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in event promotion, event coordination, or communications.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong, independent, and collaborative work ethic.
- Current UT Austin student, enrolled/registered with fees paid for the current semester and in good academic standing.
- Financial aid work-study recipient.
- Familiarity with UT Austin's communication channels and event spaces.
Salary Range $15.00 Hourly
Working ConditionsMay work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Light lifting and moving
Work ShiftMust be available to work 10-15 hours per week. Flexible work hours between Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, based on students' class schedule.
