Support warehouse operations by pulling stock and delivering to our Satellite stores, ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to destination. Unload materials for stores at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material is correct based on the Ship Ticket.
Perform a daily detailed inspection of the vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for night delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.
This is a safety‑sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License in state of residence with 3 years driving history.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violation; or no more than one type B violation in the past three years.
- Previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more.
- Read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze.
- Function independently, completing various tasks accurately with close attention to detail.
- Physical requirements:
frequent driving in all weather conditions; must adhere to proper safety regulations due to occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and reach. Regular handling of objects and lifting up to 75 pounds. Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner.
The USDOT’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, (e), does not authorize “medical marijuana” under state law as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee’s positive drug test result.
