CDL Dispatcher

Job Description

* Modify, adjust, and monitor the delivery plan for multiple terminals on a daily basis

* Plans and executes delivery schedule to meet network requirements

* Uses and adjusts schedules and resources to identify and alter routes for special requests

* Assesses driver work assignments to ensure on time deliveries to all business units

* Executes workflow to minimize DOT Hours of Service Impact

* Coordinates and distributes work assignments to drivers

* Assigns tractors to drivers to ensure most efficient use of resources

* Responsible for data entry on driver manifests and updates for completed deliveries

* Review and process driver activity for proper payroll processing

* Analyze and resolve technical issues (Transportation Management System and On-board computers)

* Supports communication between warehouses, transportation terminals, and third party vendors to ensure service level expectations are met

* Escalates issues when resources do not meet business needs or demands

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION PREFERRED

* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

* Demonstrated PC skills to include MS Office

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Proven customer service experience

* Proven ability to work and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast pace work environment while maintaining attention to detail

* Excellent time management skills

* Ability to meet deadlines

* Strong interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

* Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment

* Sit for extended periods

* Work extended hours

* Work rotating schedules including nights and weekends

* Use arms / hands in repetitive motion during the day
