Job Summary

Midstream Transportation Company, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company, is looking for CNG Transport Drivers to join our team! Drivers are responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering CNG to our residential and commercial customers using the applicable tractor and trailer from Corpus Christi, TX, San Antonio, TX and more. Candidates can be based out of San Antonio or Corpus Christi.

Our CNG Transport Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety. This position requires a Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations
  • Load, secure, transport, deliver and unload product
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
  • Apply a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to pipeline injection points
  • Plan and accomplish operational assignments that are varied and moderately complex to complex
  • Gauge tank volumes and test product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products while transporting from remote locations to pipeline injection points using a class eight tractor and a tanker trailer
  • Maintain the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
  • Maintain and complete accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven
  • Ensure that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; report larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
  • Assist with hauling equipment on a flatbed trailer
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web‑based or physical maps
  • Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required
  • Must meet all DOT requirements
  • Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
  • No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
  • 3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution business
  • 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years
Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements
  • Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 80 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift.
  • Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
  • Good hand‑eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
  • Must be able to speak and hear
  • Position is subject to pre‑hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
  • Must pass pre‑employment screening and background check
  • Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
  • Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles and gases is common
