Driver - HOLT Truck Centers

Department: HOLT Truck (TRUCK)

Employment Type: Part Time

Location: HTT - San Antonio

Description

The Driver will safely deliver new and used trucks, buses, and trailers. This position may also assist the Parts and Service departments with deliveries that may require pulling a trailer.

  • Essential Functions
    • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
    • Drives and operates all company vehicles and trailers in a safe and defensive manner at various HOLT locations in HOLT’s territory
    • Operates a vehicle in good standing and meet all state requirements in addition to meeting HOLT safety and health guidelines
    • Communicates with department managers daily to give progress updates
    • Loads, unload, and transport all equipment deliveries and pickups in a positive, caring manner while striving for promptness, accuracy, and efficiency
    • Secures equipment onto truck and ensure that materials meet state and federal guidelines for safe transport and vehicle capabilities
    • Maintains company vehicles and trailers in accordance with manufactures requirements
    • Inspects company vehicles and/or trailers before and after each trip and record any defects of vehicle
    • Completes DOT required drivers daily log accurately and without misrepresentation
    • Completes driver’s daily post trip inspection report and making recommendations for repair or maintenance, as well as being responsible for the clean appearance of company assigned vehicle
    • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of State of Oklahoma Driving laws
    • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of company vehicles
    • Ability to safely drive Truck in addition to various vehicles
    • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
    • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
    • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
    Requirements

    Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Valid Driver’s license
    • Maintains a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and must have an acceptable driving record
    • Maintains a Class B driver’s license
    • Three years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required, five years of experience preferred
    Supervisory Responsibilities
    • None
    Travel
    • 60% of driving with some potential for overnight stay
    Physical Requirements
    • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position and frequently moves about inside and outside
    • Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
    • Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
    • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
    • Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders
    • Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
    • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
    Work Environment
    • May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.
    • Noise level may be loud at times
    • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment.
    • Exposure to dust and small particles; applicable PPE must be worn to control exposure
