You'll also serve as the face of Car Max for our customers — delivering purchased vehicles directly to their homes and picking up vehicles for appraisal, making every interaction a chance to leave a lasting impression.

• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and Car Max standards using a company hauler
• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation
• Transport with Care — load, secure, transport, and unload Car Max vehicles safely and efficiently, including hands‑on freight handling, ladder climbing, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Be accountable — move vehicles between Car Max locations and approved vendors using a company‑provided truck, keeping your equipment clean, well‑maintained, and operationally ready.
• Deliver with purpose — deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and keep customers and stores on schedule.
• Represent Car Max professionally — interact with vendors, store associates, and the public in a way that reflects our values every time.
• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and Car Max standards driving a non-Class-A Commercial Motor Vehicle
• Be accountable — move vehicles between customer’s locations, Car Max locations and approved vendors using a company‑provided truck, keeping your equipment clean, well‑maintained, and operationally ready.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience — follow Car Max Standard Work to prepare and execute home deliveries and appraisal pickups at customer locations, handling all paperwork accurately and representing Car Max professionally in every interaction.

• 21 years of age or older with a valid state‑issued driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; candidates must meet Car Max’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; secure, block, and restrain vehicles during transport; and perform repetitive physical tasks including pulling, torquing, and tensioning chains, binders, and straps to meet FMCSA and Car Max load securement standards.
• Must be able to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi‑level transport decks.
• Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including exposure to noise and inclement weather.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with adherence to Car Max policies and safety standards.
• Works efficiently and uses time wisely
• 1+ year of customer service experience and 1+ year of delivery driving experience or Car Max experience
• Must possess or obtain a DOT Medical Card before starting with Car Max.

• Additional state‑specific endorsements may apply (e.g., Illinois Class C, Indiana “For Hire,” Louisiana Chauffeur’s License, Mississippi Class D Commercial).

The hourly rate for this position is:

$15.60 - $26.50
