What Makes This Driver Position Different

Malin's drivers do much more than operate a tractor-trailer. You will be responsible for each equipment move from beginning to end.

You will inspect the equipment, load it using a forklift, determine the proper securement method, transport it safely, remove the securement and unload it at the destination. This position is best suited for an experienced driver who is comfortable working independently, operating equipment and taking full ownership of every delivery.

What You'll Do
  • Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state and local regulations.
  • Transport forklifts, lift trucks and other material-handling equipment between Malin branches, vendors and customer locations.
  • Load and unload forklifts and heavy equipment using forklifts and approved loading procedures.
  • Properly secure equipment using chains, straps, binders and appropriate tie-down methods.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip and in-route vehicle inspections.
  • Inspect equipment before and after transport and photograph or document any damage.
  • Evaluate loading and unloading areas for adequate clearance, safe access and delivery conditions.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, inspection reports, fuel records and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse, service and branch teams.
  • Immediately report accidents, near misses, violations or equipment concerns to the Transportation Manager.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks, fueling and minor maintenance, and coordinate larger repairs when needed.
  • Keep company trucks, trailers and equipment clean, safe and in professional operating condition.
  • Support timely deliveries while maintaining Malin's safety and customer-service standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL with an excellent driving record.
  • At least two years of experience operating Class A CDL tractor-trailer vehicles.

  • Working knowledge of DOT requirements and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the complete transportation process.
  • Strong commitment to safety, accuracy and proper equipment handling.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers and internal teams.

Physical and Work Requirements
  • Ability to satisfy DOT physical requirements and successfully complete required drug screening and background checks.
  • Ability to routinely lift 40-50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb, bend, reach and move safely around trucks, trailers and transported equipment.
