Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., supports donors and patients with rare diseases through high-quality plasma collection and processing. The Sample Processing Technician ensures adherence to regulatory standards, maintains records, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare plasma units for frozen storage and perform routine maintenance on freezers, monitoring temperatures and removing ice buildup.
- Collect, store, and handle samples for testing, ensuring compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare frozen plasma units and samples for shipping, organize shipment documentation, and assist in loading shipments.
- Manage inventory, assist with supply requests, and maintain general cleanliness of the work area.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal teams and external donors.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen) and problem‑solving initiatives.
- Assist in training new employees and perform tasks as directed by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer‑service skills.
- Physical capability to lift up to 26lb routinely and occasionally up to 50lb; ability to work in cold environments ranging from –20°C to –40°C; fine motor coordination and hearing ability required.
- Comfortable with extended glove wear (risk level1 exposure to blood borne pathogens).
- Experience in a regulated laboratory or hospital setting is desirable.
Location: USA – TX – San Antonio – Deza
Hourly Wage: $16.00 (subject to local minimum wage requirements)
