Materials Management Supervisor

Supervises the purchasing, inventory control, and utilization of materials, supplies, and equipment for an assigned area. Leads and mentors lower level staff members.

• Supervises all materials management activities related to the movement of storage, production scheduling and inventory control activities.
• Supervises transport of supplies and materials to and from departments and ensures supplies and material needs are met throughout the institution.
• Supervises inventory levels and prepares and analyzes reports.
• Ensures complete inspection of materials against supplier invoices, bills of lading, packing slips, customer orders and similar documents.
• Handles shipment discrepancies and ensures resolution.
• Guarantees accuracy of filled requisitions and delivery of materials to customers.
• Plans, organizes, and implements inventory operations and procedures.
• Interviews, recommends employees for hire, and manages employee training.
• Oversees employees work; appraises employee productivity/efficiency and handles employee complaints and grievances.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Demonstrated knowledge in logistics, warehouse, or directly related fields.
• Ability to collaborate and gain cooperation in team oriented environment.
• Detail oriented with meticulous planning, organizational and negotiating skills.
• Ability to identify and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and develops alternative solutions.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in materials management or related field is required.

• Two (2) years of related material handling experience is required.
