Inventory Clerk

The Inventory Clerk works in a warehouse environment to support inventory control and inventory management activities. This role focuses on maintaining accurate stock levels, performing regular counts, and ensuring smooth material movement to keep operations running efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Work in the warehouse to support day-to-day inventory control and inventory management activities.
  • Perform accurate inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Monitor material movement throughout the warehouse to ensure items are stored, tracked, and retrieved correctly.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to load, unload, and move materials as needed.
  • Maintain stock accuracy by organizing inventory locations and updating documentation and reports.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel to record inventory data, prepare basic reports, and track stock levels.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to provide updates on tasks, inventory issues, and workflow.
  • Demonstrate a self-starter mindset by proactively requesting new tasks and maintaining a steady workflow without close supervision.
  • Apply basic math and analytical skills to verify counts, measure materials, and solve inventory-related problems.
  • Support production demands and staffing needs by working overtime when required to meet operational goals.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of inventory control experience managing stock accuracy, counts, and material movement.
  • Minimum 1 year of forklift operation experience with safe loading, unloading, and warehouse equipment use.
  • Proven ability to work as a self-starter, proactively requesting next tasks and maintaining workflow without supervision.
  • Strong math and analytical skills applied to inventory counts, measurements, and problem-solving.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with team members and providing task updates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, for documentation and reporting.
  • Willingness and availability to work overtime to support production demands and staffing needs.

Environment

This role is based in a warehouse setting that operates on two shifts: a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight). Work involves moving through warehouse aisles, handling materials, and operating forklifts and other equipment in a safety-conscious environment. The position requires flexibility to work overtime when production demands increase.

The atmosphere is fast-paced and team-oriented, with a focus on maintaining accurate inventory and efficient material flow.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
