Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Promotes and adheres to safety best practices on the jobsite.
• Assists the Project Manager and team members in planning, coordinating, and administering assigned projects/scopes of work.
• Handles areas such as RFI’s, submittals, contracts, change orders, purchasing, scheduling, and progress reports.
• Assists in bidding and buyout activities including scope delineation, scope letter development, bidder outreach, and bid leveling.
• Reviews field inspection reports and communicates deficiencies to supervisors and responsible superintendents.
• Manages record drawings, including review and posting of document changes.
• Creates and maintains document control logs to track documents in buyout and construction phases.
• Tracks weekly trade performance against project schedule, reviews delay logs to ensure trade delays are incorporated into the schedule, and provides team updates.
• Reviews specifications, identifies required submittals, prepares a submittal schedule, and communicates deficiencies.
• Facilitates the project's VDC coordination efforts.
• Responsible for taking and distributing accurate meeting minutes, including safety meetings.
• Promotes sustainability initiatives and coordinates project LEED requirements.
• Maintains project progress photographs and distributes them per project requirements.
• Performs project quality control and on‑site coordination with trades.
• Understands and helps manage jobsite GRs.
• Assists with other special projects as assigned.

• Advanced knowledge of document control and information flow for RFI’s, submittals, and document control.
• Working knowledge of contracts and purchase orders, including provisions, terms, language, insurance requirements, claim resolution, and warranty.
• Working knowledge of surveying, scheduling, drawings, and construction sequencing.
• Working knowledge of VDC coordination tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Basic knowledge of change management.
• Preferred ability to develop and manage short‑interval schedules for small features of work.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

LEED GA preferred.

OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.

• Leadership ability to develop and mentor junior staff while maintaining team morale.

Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction hoists, climb ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction.

Requires close, peripheral, and depth vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.

Requires use of hands for handling tools or controls, sitting, talking, hearing, standing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Regularly works on‑site at construction locations, exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. Noise levels are moderate to very loud.

Range of base pay is $105,000–$113,500. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
