This position is part of the nation’s Ability One Program. Ability One is one of the largest sources of employment for people who are blind or have significant disabilities. Through nonprofit agencies (such as Discover Goodwill), the program provides products and services such as janitorial and commercial laundry. Full‑time employees supporting federal government contracts under the Service Contract Act earn fringe benefits based on the Wage Determination, including medical, primary care, dental, vision, retirement, short‑term disability, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. In addition, employees are eligible for paid time off (vacation, holiday, jury duty, and, in some determinations, sick time).

• Empty trash, sweep, and clean surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect.
• Vacuum or shampoo clean carpets.
• Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
• Mix various cleaning agents.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with soapy water, sponges, or squeegees.
• Dust furniture and scrub surfaces.
• Apply wax to coat floors and buff.
• Strip and top‑scrub floors.
• Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
• Move heavy items such as furniture.
• Identify and report possible repairs.
• Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours.
• Help create a safe working environment for yourself, customers, and fellow employees.
