This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis and at the unit level. It is responsible for supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and for supporting the CNO in ensuring high‑quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
- Provides high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
- Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, aiming to discharge patients with an optimum level of care.
- Coordinates and plans patient care within the prescribed medical regime; administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed by the facility during emergencies and/or disasters.
- Knows the hospital's emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

EducationRequired:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
Preferred:
Recent acute care experience.
Required:
Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice the profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice or policy; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
