Full‑time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions.

The role involves working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Position Summary

The Full‑time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Pay will be based on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, stocked sales floor and displays merchandise.
  • Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Successfully completes assigned training.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods of time (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with basic math calculations.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Must have a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2‑8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Details will be provided during the interview.
