Summary

The Plant Controller is accountable for the overall integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial results and safeguarding of plant assets for a multi‑line operation with significant operational and SKU complexity. The role provides timely and comprehensive financial leadership to the Plant Management team, engages in all aspects of operations, and manages direct reports in day‑to‑day accounting, reporting, and inventory control.

Key Accountabilities
  • Accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Balance sheet oversight and reconciliation
  • Capital expenditure analysis and reporting
  • Accurate cost analysis
  • Compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
  • Statutory reporting as required
  • Completion of internal and external audits
  • Support continuous operational and financial results improvement with a focus on cost savings
  • Manage and develop direct reports
Financial Reporting & Controls
  • Ensure plant operations deliver accurate, timely results in accordance with GAAP, company procedures, and statutory regulations
  • Set annual standards and production yields for financial reporting and costing analysis in partnership with plant management
  • Provide financial guidance and support, proactively communicating accounting/reporting issues and recommendations
  • Advise on capital expenditure requests, preparing/reviewing financial support and performing post‑capex audits
  • Maintain compliance with key control procedures and corporate policies at the local level
  • Manage working capital reporting and work with plant management to optimize cash flows, focusing on inventories and capex cash flows
  • Communicate with peers to foster consistent financial management across units
  • Support external and internal audits and complete ad‑hoc reporting requests
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Manage the weekly/monthly/quarterly flash forecast process with Plant Management, delivering accurate forecasted results and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Lead the development of the Annual Operating Plan for the plant
Business Analysis Support
  • Collaborate with Plant Management to identify and recommend process improvements that deliver financial benefits or mitigate financial risks
  • Analyze financial data to facilitate decision‑making at the plant management level
Required Skills & Competencies
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)
  • ERP system experience (SAP preferred)
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to operate and consistently deliver in a changing environment
  • High level of accountability and initiative
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑starter capable of working independently
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain results and convey ideas
  • Financial analysis skills: identify, validate, interpret data, and recognize trends
  • Knowledge of financial accounting systems, controls, compliance procedures, and industry practices
  • Strong business ethics commitment
  • US GAAP/IFRS knowledge
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field plus 5–7 years of related work experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Manufacturing/costing experience
  • Food and Beverage manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Staff management experience
  • CPA, CMA or equivalent designation (desired)
